Native biennial.

Provides nectar for the bees all day long and is a real stunner! This biennial loves dry conditions and poor soil. From its rough grey uninspiring leaves it sends up 100cm spires of deep blue flowers with pink highlights. It flowers from July to September but the amazing thing about this plant is that it produced nectar all day - unlike most plants that dry up by about lunchtime - and so provides and all-day bee buffet.

Plants ordered now are last years seedlings and should flower this year. Later orders will probably be the current year seedlings to be lush flowering next year.

Biennial. Blue spires to 80cm. Flowers July to Sept. Plant 40cm apart in full sun. Look out for seedings in spring!
