Alliums: spring bulbs for bees

wpid-IMG_0617.jpg

We are now stocking a collection of small allium flowers that are not only good for the bees but edible too - a bit like giant chives!! All alliums are good for bees but we have selected Alliums Roseum and Unifolium because, although less dramatic that the large purple pompom type, they produce many more flowers and their bulbs reproduce readily so that you can fill a corner with pale pink flowers within 2 to 3 years.
